About Cvali
A resume tool that
tells you the truth.
Cvali is an independent job-search toolkit built on one uncomfortable fact: for most openings, software reads your resume before any human does. Everything here exists to get you past that first pass - and then to make the rest of the application less exhausting.

- 1ScanResume vs. the job description

Why Cvali exists
Applying for jobs used to mean sending a resume to a person. Now it usually means sending a file into a parser. The parser pulls out your titles, dates, skills and tools, matches them against a requisition, and hands a recruiter a shortlist. If your resume was built in a two-column template with your skills in a sidebar, half of that extraction can fail before anyone reads a word.
The frustrating part is that you never find out. You get silence, and silence looks identical whether you were unqualified, mis-formatted, or simply using the wrong words for the same experience. That gap - between doing the work and being read as having done it - is the whole reason Cvali was built.
So the first thing Cvali ever did was give you the feedback loop nobody else does: paste a job description, upload your resume, and see the match score, the keywords you hit and the ones you missed. No account, no card, no waiting.
What it grew into
Scoring a resume is useful, but it leaves you with a list of problems and no way to fix them. So the scanner became the front door to a toolkit that handles the rest of the loop: an AI resume builder that rewrites your experience for a specific role, a cover letter generator that works from the same two inputs, a job tracker so applications stop living in a spreadsheet, and a Chrome extension that scores a listing and fills the application form while you are already on the page.
Alongside the product there are role-by-role guides covering the outcomes, duties, screening criteria and interview questions that come up for over a hundred common jobs - written to be read, not to rank.
How it actually works
Your resume is parsed from PDF or DOCX into plain text. That text and the job description are sent to an AI model, which returns the score, the keyword breakdown and any rewritten content. Results and uploaded files are stored on Supabase so that a logged-in account can come back to its history and job tracker. Anonymous scans are rate-limited using a hashed version of your IP address - never your raw IP.
Nothing you submit is used to train a model, and there are no advertising trackers on the site. The full breakdown lives in the privacy policy, written in plain language rather than legalese.
What we optimise for
Four things we refuse to compromise on.
Built around the screen you cannot see
Most resumes are parsed by software before a person opens them. Every tool in Cvali is aimed at that first pass: readable structure, the right terms, no layout tricks that break extraction.
One toolkit, not six subscriptions
Scanner, resume builder, cover letter writer, job tracker and the Chrome extension share the same resume and the same job description, so you are not re-pasting your history into five different tabs.
No ads, no trackers, no data sales
Cvali makes nothing from your data. There are no third-party ad trackers on the site, and your resume is never sold, shared with recruiters, or used to train a model.
Free where it matters
Scoring a resume, rewriting it for a role and generating a cover letter are free. Job hunting is already expensive in time and morale - a paywall on the first honest piece of feedback helps nobody.
The honest part
What Cvali will never do.
We do not auto-submit applications
The Chrome extension fills the form and stops. You read it and click submit yourself. Mass-blasting applications is how you end up rejected by companies you actually wanted.
We do not sell your resume to recruiters
Cvali has no employer side and no recruiter marketplace. Nobody is paying us for access to candidates, so nothing in the product is quietly optimised for their benefit instead of yours.
We do not promise a number of interviews
You will see a match score, matched keywords and missing keywords. What that turns into depends on your experience and the market, and we would rather say so than invent a statistic.
We do not pad the score to feel good
If your resume misses half the requirements, the score says so. A tool that always returns 90% is a compliment, not feedback.
Cvali is early and still small. If something is broken, missing, or plainly wrong, tell us directly - that feedback reaches the people who build it, not a support tier.
