UX Designer resume keywords and bullet examples
Your portfolio does most of the work, but the resume still has to get past the first screen. Recruiters search for tools and methods, such as Figma, user research, prototyping and usability testing, and hiring managers look for the problem you solved and how you knew it worked.

Mistakes that get UX designer resumes skipped
- A two-column, image-heavy resume. Save the visual work for your portfolio and keep the resume readable by software.
- No link to your portfolio, or a link buried in the footer.
- Describing screens instead of outcomes. Say what changed for users or the business.
- Two columns, tables or icons. Applicant tracking software can read them out of order, so keep one column and standard headings.
Questions
Should a UX designer resume be creative?
Keep it clean. A single column with clear headings gets read correctly by applicant tracking systems, and your portfolio shows your visual skills.
Should I list UX tools or methods first?
Follow the posting. Most ask for both: tools like Figma, and methods like user research, wireframing and usability testing.
