Every resume bullet should open with a verb, and most people cycle through the same four - managed, led, worked, helped - until the page reads flat. These are grouped by what the verb actually claims, because "led" and "supported" describe two different jobs and choosing the wrong one misrepresents your seniority in either direction.
Choosing a verb that matches what you did
The verb sets your seniority - pick honestly
Led, owned and directed claim decision authority. Supported, contributed and assisted claim you were in the room. Overclaiming falls apart in the interview, and underclaiming is why strong candidates read as junior on paper.
Never open two bullets in a row with the same verb
Three Manageds under one job make the whole role look like one repeated task. Varying the verb is not decoration - it is what shows the role had different kinds of work in it.
Retire utilized, leveraged and spearheaded
Utilized is used with extra syllables. Leveraged and spearheaded were strong in 2010 and now read as resume-speak. Plain verbs - built, ran, cut, won, fixed - are stronger precisely because they are ordinary.
Past tense everywhere except your current job
Roles you have left take past tense throughout. Your current role takes present tense for ongoing work and past for finished projects. Mixing tenses inside a single role is one of the most common things a careful reader notices.
